Apple, Celery, Grapefruit, Ginger And Spinach Juice

Apple juice is a drink that, when we prepare it at home, we can combine with other fresh ingredients rich in various nutrients, such as: celery, grapefruit, spinach and ginger.

In addition to being a different way of enjoying these foods, it is a refreshing drink that may well accompany a meal or a snack. 

What are the nutrients in its ingredients?

Note: it is not recommended to add sugar to this type of preparation. It is best to avoid sweeteners in general and enjoy the sweet taste that the apple itself offers.

Spinach

On the other hand, they contain vitamins of group B (B6, B2, B1) and folic acid ( vitamin B9).

Its fiber content is essential when it comes to preventing the appearance of intestinal problems, as indicated by the current scientific literature.

Its minerals include calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, and phosphorus. It also provides antioxidant substances such as flavonoids and carotenoids.

Grapefruit

This citrus is made up of 90% water and for every 100 grams it provides 32 calories, 7 grams of carbohydrates, 0.6 of proteins. In addition, it does not contain fat and is high in vitamin C, fiber, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Vitamin C, among other properties, has a protective role on the skin according to experts. For this reason, its regular consumption is recommended to show a healthy appearance.

Celery

Contains up to 95% water. But, in addition, it provides  vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2, B6, B9 (folic acid), beta-carotene, vitamin E and C. It also contains minerals such as calcium, zinc, magnesium, iron, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, copper, aluminum and silicon.

The daily intake of group B vitamins is essential since they are fundamental cofactors in the reactions of energy metabolism according to the scientific literature.

How to prepare this drink

Ingredients

  • ½ grapefruit (without skin).
  • 2 stalks of celery.
  • 2 green apples.
  • 1 piece of ginger, peeled
  • 1 and a half cups of raw spinach (45 g).

Preparation

The preparation of this juice does not have much complication. Simply, you just have to process all its ingredients in the blender, until you get a homogeneous mixture.

  • Wash and drain all the ingredients well.
  • Cut the green apples into eighths (you do not need to remove the skin).
  • Cut the two celery stalks into slices.
  • Peel the grapefruit and cut it into slices.
  • Take all the ingredients to the blender and process them for a couple of minutes until everything is well integrated and without lumps.
  • If you consider it necessary,  you can add a little water to facilitate the blending and reduce the thickness of the mixture.
  • When consuming, you can add some ice cubes to make the drink even cooler.

This apple juice is a good source of nutrients to include in your regular diet. It should not be used as a substitute for any meal, but consuming it regularly will provide a supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
