Juices That Help Control Type 2 Diabetes
As the MSD Manual indicates: diabetes mellitus is a disorder in which blood glucose (blood sugar or glucose concentration) is excessively high, because the body does not secrete enough insulin to meet its own demand. In other words, the body is unable to regulate blood sugar levels on its own.
There is no single cause, but type 2 diabetes can occur due to genetic factors, stress, poor diet, other diseases, obesity, being overweight, the consumption of certain medications, etc.
Types of diabetes
There are two types of diabetes, and both cases have different causes and risk factors:
- Type 1 diabetes (type 1 DM): is a type of diabetes that can appear at any age, but especially affects children, adolescents and young adults. In this type of diabetes, the body does not produce or produces very little insulin, since the cells in charge of it stop working properly. In this case, the solution is to inject a daily dose of insulin, which should be recommended by an expert according to the case of each patient.
- Type 2 diabetes (type 2 DM): It is the most common type of diabetes. It usually affects mainly adults over 60 years of age, but today many young people are affected by this problem due to obesity and poor diet. In this case, diabetes is usually detected when it is very advanced, since many do not realize that they suffer from this disease.
Symptoms of type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes (type 2 DM) develops slowly in most patients, and in many cases, symptoms do not appear until the disease is advanced. It should be noted that this disease can not only occur in patients who suffer from obesity or overweight, it can also occur in thin patients.
Symptoms that type 2 DM can cause:
- Fatigue.
- Hunger.
- Blurry vision.
- Increased thirst.
- Frequent urination (urge to urinate continuously).
It can also more easily lead to the development of infections in the bladder, kidneys, skin, or other parts of the body. That is why it is so important to follow the treatment prescribed by the doctor, take care of lifestyle habits and have regular check-ups.
Is it possible to control diabetes naturally?
All patients with diabetes need medical treatment and, at the same time, they must improve (and maintain) their lifestyle habits, so that they help them to experience the best possible well-being in their daily lives.
Through habits it would be possible to maintain control of the disease “naturally” and above all, through diet. In relation to this point, the MSD Manual indicates the following:
Naturally, it is also advisable to maintain an active lifestyle. Daily exercise can help the patient experience well-being by helping to lower blood sugar, improve circulation, control weight, increase energy levels, and even improve the ability to handle stress.
* It is possible that the doctor prescribes some type of special measure before, during and after physical activity. On the other hand, it can also indicate adjustments in insulin doses.
